  9. Be sure to keep them in an air tight container so they keep their crunch.

Stir together the sugar, butter, vanilla, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Add the eggs and whites, beating vigorously with a wooden spoon until evenly incorporated. Dip edge of each cookie into melted chocolate; let excess drip back into bowl. Place cookies on waxed paper; let stand until set.
